There’s a reason French dinner parties feel so mem There’s a reason French dinner parties feel so memorable.

It’s not necessarily because the food is elaborate or the table is extravagant.

More often, it comes down to a few traditions that help the evening unfold naturally: beginning with an apéritif, serving a thoughtfully paced meal, setting a welcoming table, and making plenty of room for conversation.

The result is an evening that feels relaxed, elegant, and enjoyable for both the host and the guests.

Comment DINNER and I’ll send you my guide on how to host a French dinner party, including menu ideas, table-setting tips, and the traditions that make these gatherings so special. 🇫🇷✨

A French cheese board isn’t usually about piling o A French cheese board isn’t usually about piling on lots of accompaniments or making it look overly styled.

Instead, the focus is on the cheese itself.

A good board often includes a variety of milk types and textures, chosen to complement one another rather than compete.

The French also tend to let the seasons guide the selection, choosing cheeses that are at their best at different times of the year.

Simple. Thoughtful. And meant to be enjoyed slowly around the table.

Comment CHEESE and I’ll send you my full guide to building a French cheese board, including how to choose the right cheeses and create a board that feels beautifully authentic.🧀

One of the biggest mindset shifts France gave me w One of the biggest mindset shifts France gave me was realizing how often we save beautiful things for later.

The nice dishes.
The perfume.
The champagne…

As if ordinary life isn’t reason enough to enjoy them.

But the French approach feels different. There’s less waiting for a special occasion and more emphasis on making everyday life itself feel a little more beautiful.

Comment BEAUTY and I’ll send you my article on how to romanticize your life like a French woman. 🌺
One of the things I’ve noticed most about life in One of the things I’ve noticed most about life in France is that luxury often feels less tied to expensive things, and more tied to everyday experiences.

A bouquet from the market.
A coffee at a café.
A slow lunch.
Good bread.
A simple walk.

Simple things, but experienced more fully.

And I think that’s part of why French living feels so appealing to so many people. It’s not necessarily about extravagance — it’s about presence, pleasure, and allowing ordinary moments to feel meaningful.

If you’d like to bring more of this feeling into your own everyday life, join us inside Everyday France, my online community centered around French-inspired living, style, beauty, food, and everyday rituals.
